Janet is a qualified barrister who helped found RMJ in the early 1990s.

In addition to her responsibilities as RMJ trustee, she also holds positions as National Trustee for Wales for the BBC Trust, Independent Chairman on the Membership Selection Panel for not-for profit Glas Cymru Cyf (Welsh Water) and a Trustee for Maytree Sanctuary for the Suicidal.

Janet has previously held a wide number of executive positions, including Vice President of the British Board of Film Classification and Trustee at the Baring Foundation. She worked for the Home Office for several years and has also held positions in the Cabinet Office and Privy Council Office.
