The Refugee Legal Centre relaunched itself on
March 10th 2009
as Refugee and Migrant Justice (RMJ) at a reception at the House of Lords. Speakers at the reception included Dame Anne Owers, HM Inspector of Prisons, and Natasha Walter, journalist, author of
Motherland
, and Coordinator of Women for Refugee Women. RMJ also launched their new document, “Does Every Child Matter? Children seeking asylum in Britain,” an examination of the experiences of asylum seeking children in Britain under the new UKBA Code. More information can be found on our

Fundraising
RMJ is to receive a substantial grant from the Baring Foundation for a partnership project in conjunction with the Immigration Advisory Service and Asylum Aid to undertake an important piece of research into the cost of quality in legal services for asylum seekers and some migrants. It is hoped that the research will be completed within the year.
