Refugee and Migrant Justice (RMJ), formerly the Refugee Legal Centre, was recently featured on CBBC’s Newsround in a special feature about child asylum seekers. Caroline Slocock, Chief Executive, said, ”The government needs to stop locking up children, but if it feels it has to, it should make sure it treats children like children.”
RMJ recently released a report into children in the asylum system, Does Every Child Matter? which was extensively covered in the national press: more details can be found here, or on our In the News page. For more information on the report, please click here or visit our Policy and Research page. For policy or media enquiries, please contact Deri Hughes-Roberts (dhughesr@rmj.org.uk) or Kathleen Commons (kcommons@rmj.org.uk), or call 020 7780 3200.
